Now, i know for many of you, this is probably a silly question but....

i really want to turn my music 3000 songs into mp3 but i dont know how to do this. i tried using a cable that has 3.5mm jacks on both ends, connecting to my tv headphone socket and my laptop's microphone socket but the sound quality was terrible. I am recording the songs using magix music maker 16.

Now a tutorial video would be great as i dont understand the different cable names etc like y-cables and what RCA means. A simple 'how to' would be awesome and i would really appreciate if anybody could help me out here.

My next idea would be to use an adaptor for the audio cables on the ps2. connecting the video to the tv and the 2 audio cables to the adaptor and plugging the adaptor into the microphone socket of the laptop via 3.5mm jack. Then recording on magix music maker 16, would this work???

hi, welcome here, we used to have at least one thread about this matter but i can't find it right now, i guess we'll have to write down the tips once again.
personally i use an external audio soundcard which is connected to the pc and to the playstation by the red&white RCA plugs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA_connector) you normally use with the playstation itself. i know that other members here use different methods to record their songs so they can help you out with other suggestions :)

your all really helpful, im glad i found this forum. i thought i was the only one that still enjoyed these music programs. i have made songs since the very first music game back on the playstation and overtime, i made loads. the fact that i can now put the songs on my pc as made my day as it became so annoying having to load the songs on my ps2 just to hear them again. Hopeflly, as soon as i get them on mp3 format, i can finally share them over the internet.
