TIMGUL Intruments
« on: November 13, 2008, 08:05:22 pm »
Hey all, I thought this would be an interesting topic. List some of the instruments you frequently use in your tracks on the Music/MTV Music Generator games. It might help people find that distinct sound they need and keep overlooking, or it might just be interesting. Who knows. I'll go first, just a few examples of stuff I use alot in my tracks.

Drums

Hardcore 3
Nineteen
Kickdrum 4
Techno
Bodybaggertk

Snare

909 Snare 1
Edgehitter2

Hi-Hat

Bright
1980 Closed
Good Snick
Dribble
Pbend Close

Toms

Deluded Tom

Bass

Pulse Width
Otonebas1 e
Acrostring
Warmchord 2

Melody

Acid Two
Chordals
Ambikorder1
Breath Bell
Breath Pulse
Fullmonty
Majestic

Vocals

Ooooh 011
Ahhhh 001

I'll add more another time, but one more question; Which songs from TIMGUL do you have on your phone/ipod/mp3 player etc. So far I have all my songs, naturally, Farewell by Julian McNash and Regeneration by Quade. I plan to add more but I've been busy lately.

Nice!! There is one sample in the list in particular,Reso Bell when played at a lower octave.Im pretty sure ive heard this sound in many older dnb tracks around the ninties dark dnb era.probably used with a low pass filter to bring the bass out a bit more and a bit more reverb added.Metalheadz type sound.

I don't tend to use the same samples over and over, mostly due to currently finding the "Not a Number sound"; but for bass I usually use Black Bass C. Floor it 1's good for bass drums because it's so versatile; I reckon it could fit with any style..

I'll probably post mine at one point. I'm unsure from which songs though. I gradually switch to new samples as I progress from a song to another.

Hell...Loads of synth and precussion, thanks for listing :) Waiting to hear the full version so i can make reference to the list.
I,ve started making another tune after listening to the short mp3,Using mean stuff and huge together on different octaves, and tight gate snare+tams, added reverb to them on hall setting.depth 9 from the start, going up to 22 from the drop. They sound kind of like the ones from tomb raider-dj fresh. Will upload when its done.

Sounds good! I have the reverb on ROOM mainly. Not too hot on reverb yet still playin' around with it. both stats are 30. FULL synth Assault on Facebook only. Track is 10m so unable to upload onto TIMGUL.  :(

Easy to use MUSIC Player, last tune on the list at the moment. Easily my best tune to date.  :D

Ta for yr help

Need to learn all these special effects... used a high number of reverb on my Shuttle (Orbit) tune (something silly like 70+) but need to learn how to use them properly. Are there any tutorials on this? Also thanks Irndemon for that message on YouTube, I used the samples in an ''intelligent'' remix of a tune and created a whole new beat that ended up sounding similar to the intro of the Jungle tune ''Dead Dred''. I might have to post it up some time.
