Website hacked
« on: January 21, 2008, 11:08:29 pm »
Timgul website got hacked in the night of Saturday, and some files were used to spam people, which caused my account to be locked. The site is now back but we still need to figure out a good way so this doesn't happen again. So far converting to PHPBB seemed like a chore, same for installing the security mod, which didnt seemed to change anything at all.

Maybe we will merge with Omnimaga when it comes back or we will restart from scratch on Invisionfree (which is secure) and try to find a good download system, but this will mean all file the members uploaded will be lost.

Sorry for the inconveniences this may have caused.

I did wonder if it had been hacked when I tried to log on the other night and error 404 showed up. Seems some people have nothing better to do with themselves than screw around causing mischief for others. I'm happy to go along with whatever serves to make things more secure.

Thanks for informing us!

I turned off the Email and PM system because they gave full of errors

I hope it doesn't have to do with 1and1.com turning the e-mail priviledge off
