TIMGUL Rave Mix, Volume 5 out!
« on: November 01, 2008, 08:46:14 am »
As you could read in the previous news article posted yesterday, it was the 10th anniversary of the Music series on this Halloween. To celebrate this, in addition to the video mentionned, a new TIMGUL mix has been made. Timgul Rave Mix Volume 5 is similar in style to the 4 previous mixes, but like the 3rd one, Mix 5 doesn't feature any hardcore and drum and bass. Due to the increasing activity on TIMGUL website, the forums having broken the 1000 posts in a month milestone for the first time in one year, it has come to my decision for Mix 5 to do a mix of house, eurodance, italo-disco and trance music only, then release a mix of trance, uk hardcore and drum and bass at a later date. Basically right now it alternates between a non-hardcore mix and a mix of everything, but more hardcore and DnB than the two first mixes. The song selection was very hard to make this time and squishing everything together as well but it finally came out with the following mix. This is the first mix to feature a MTV Music Generator 3 song (track 11) and the second mix to feature a track not from TIMGUL website (track 8)

thanks a lot guys. My idea was that Mix 6 would be kinda like the sequel to Mix 5. Unlike mix 4, which still started slow even if the majority of tunes were over 170 BPM, the 6th mix would immediately start around 145-150 BPM and quickly go to 170 BPM after a few songs.

Another brilliant mix Omni, listening to it all the way through is just like listening to a pro dance album compilation.
Congratulations to everyone for producing such high quality tunes and I know they`ll be many more to come! TIMGUL rules!  ;)

And then jump all the way to 200, amirite? :P

Yeah, but the Dragonforce remix will be like a bonus track, a bit like Epic Journey Through The Galaxy 2008 in Mix 4 since the gap between bpms will probably make it a bit hard to mix the tracks

Cool mix...

Are any of my songs going to be good enough to make it on one of these mixes?  :'(

I was supposed to include Cosmic Sphere but I ran out of space for more songs :( A lot of songs in Mix 5 were over 6 minutes long and I needed to squish them to be able to fit 21

It will probably be near the beginning of Mix 6. There was another song from you I wanted to include I think but I don't remember the name. I will need to check again. There are also chances that I include Witness The Bass in my game but if it's not a modified version it will probably be for an abandonned rave with zombies and evil monsters (the game occuring in the future)

For the problem with the jump in BPM for Mix 6: I do have a mix in pending (ie. not being made yet until I find a decent MIDI file of it so I can recreate it like I did with the DragonForce remix; what, you thought I figured out each not on my own? :P) that goes at I think 180BPM, but as I reckon it would end up being longer than the DragonForce remix (at a guess, 10:25), if I started it now, it wouldn't be ready for release until probably December. XD It took 2 days to do the 2:29 long guitar solo; it'll take much longer for this one.

That, and I'v egot an album to finish. XP

I think I'll throw Super Ultimate Mega doom at the end of the mix, it might help a bit ^^

Was it Trance Nation 2010, or maybe Tranced-Out?
I just uploaded that to the Trance/Techno section...

I,m unsure, I haven't listened to a lot of new tracks in the past days and there's a lot of tracks that were posted a month ago that i still haven't got time to listen to. Hence why most TIMGUL Mix 5 tracks were from this summer x.x
